Information for CI Organizations
What technology resources are available to guests of my organization?
Campus guests may be granted privileges to access technology resources including:
- Access to computers and the Internet in the Library and campus computer labs
- Wireless Internet access
Access to other systems will be granted at the discretion of the hosting organization and Information Technology.
How do I request access for guests?
Please visit our to submit a request, or call 805-437-8552.
You will need to provide the following information to process your request:
- Number of guests
- Name of Hosting Organization
- Name and Date of Hosted Event
- List of systems to which access is required
- Duration of guest access for each system
How far in advance should I make my access request?
Requests for guest access must be submitted to the Help Desk at least 5 business days in advance of the event start date.

How do I get wireless access?
Please visit the Wireless Access web page.
The easiest way is simply to join the CI_GUEST unsecured wireless network from your device. Once connected to CI_GUEST, use your web browser to open the captive portal, agree to our Terms of Use, then click "Log In".
Alternately, the host organization at CI may provide you with a your wireless username and password.
What is my username and password to access a specific system or service?
If you are connecting to CI_GUEST unsecured wireless network as a visitor, then you will not need a username and password in order to connect. Once you connect to CI_GUEST, use your browser to open the captive portal, agree to our Terms of Use, then click "Log In".
Alternately, the host organization at CI may provide you with a your wireless user name and password. If the host organization has given you a wireless username and password, click the link provided "For sponsored guest please login here".
You will be redirected to a separate login page. Enter your username and password, accept the Terms of Use, and select the button "Log In".
