Orientation Disability Accommodations

»ªÌå»á is committed to providing full access to all student programs and services.Orientation & Engagement Programs works with Disability Accommodations and Support Services  to provide disability-related accommodations during orientation.

The First Year Orientation programwill include:

  • Listening to and watching live presentations
  • Listening to and watching pre-recorded videos
  • Reading written materials and handouts 
  • Traveling across campus and participating in a campus tour
  • Engaging with large and small groups, including mealtimes
  • Overnight stay in campus housing (first-year students)

Here are some examples of typical disability-related accommodations:

  • Live captioning for presentations
  • ASL for presentations
  • Closed captioning for videos
  • Allowed to step out of a session to a quiet location
  • Braille for handouts/written material
  • Reading assistance/alternative media formats
  • Allow seating for personal assistant or interpreter

Submit Your Request

If you require disability-related accommodations to fully participate in orientation, please submit your request by completing this no later than 7  business days prior to the orientation event. Once your request is submitted, we will contact you as soon as possible to discuss your disability-related accommodation needs.
