We are Hiring Peer Tutors for Fall 2025! 

We are seeking Peer Tutors for Fall 2025. We are accepting applications beginning April 1st. The priority application window will close on April 17th 11:59 pm. Please carefully , if you have any questions please email the LRC at lrc@csuci.edu.

When will you hire Student Assistants?

We will begin seeking applicants for the Student Assistant position after we complete tutor hiring.

Application Requirements

The tutor application is linked under the "Student Employment Application" section. You should read the entire application before getting started so you know how much time you will need to complete it. Before you begin filling out the application you will need the following materials to include in your application. 

Required Materials

Have the following ready to include in your application:

  1. Cover Letter
  2. Resume
  3. Unofficial College Transcripts from all colleges you have attended
  4. If needed, »ªÌå»á Student Employment Application
  5. The names of two faculty who have agreed to submit a Tutor Recommendation Form on your behalf.

Student Employment Application

Before we can proceed with the hiring process, if you are not currently a student employee, you will need to complete the Student Employment Application and attach it to your LRC tutor application. 

Two Faculty Recommendation Forms

Talk to faculty you have had as a student who teach courses you would like to support as a tutor. You will need to find two faculty willing to complete and submit a Tutor Recommendation Form on your behalf.

  1. Email both faculty the Tutor Recommendation Form and ask them to fill it out and email it to lrc@csuci.edu by the specified due date.
  2. You do not need to wait for faculty to email the recommendations to apply. On your application include the names of the faculty who will be sending recommendations. 
  3. We will notify you if faculty have not emailed their recommendations by the due date. If we do not receive the recommendations by the due date, we will help you follow up with faculty to ensure recommendations are submitted in a timely manner. 

What if I am nominated by a faculty member? 

We take into serious consideration students who have been nominated by faculty to be tutors. If one or more faculty members nominate you, this counts as one recommendation form. You will still need to one faculty recommendation form in addition to any nominations you have received.

What happens after I submit my application? 

The hiring committee will review all applications. Eligible applicants who have submitted complete applications and meet the position requirements will advance to the second round and will be invited to attend individual interviews, which may be conducted via Zoom or in-person, as schedules allow.
